b. 1980
Samira Taheri (b. 1980, Tehran) is a contemporary Iranian painter. She holds an Associate Degree in Graphic Design from Shariati University and a Bachelor's Degree in Painting from the University of Science and Culture in Tehran. She began her artistic practice with abstract painting, using line as a fundamental element of her visual language to express personal emotions.
In her Origami series, her exploration of light and shadow led her toward a more naturalistic approach. In the New York series, she reinterprets urban landscapes through the lens of her own perception and experience, blurring the boundary between observation and subjectivity.
Taheri held her first solo exhibition in 2008 at Servat Gallery in Tehran.
