Tara Lak
b. 2003
Tara Lak, born on 23rd of August 2003 in Karaj, holds a BA in Painting from Alzahra University, Tehran. She primarily works in painting and drawing, with a focus on figurative approaches. The human figure is the central subject of her paintings; she depicts them in their simplest and most everyday states and, through them, explores themes such as lived experience and the passage of time. By altering and disrupting the usual structure of space, the relationships between the elements of the image take on a different form and present the viewer with a different narrative. Her works are an attempt to represent the connection between personal and collective memory, and the traces of changes in identity over time.
She has participated in numerous exhibitions and festivals, including “Nasl-e No,” the “Satin” Annual, and the “Self-Portraits of Contemporary Artists” exhibition at Sufi Gallery. She has also been a winner of the “Khor” art project and a selected artist at the Iran Young Visual Arts Festival.
